Presentation

The Academic Master in Environmental Sciences of UNIC aims to train post-graduates at stricto sensu level and make them capable of studying and understanding the functioning of ecosystems of the region from a physical point of view in the regional context intending to meet the demand of professionals who research, update and develop activities related to Environmental Sciences in the State of Mato Grosso and the Midwest Region.

Target Audience

The program is multidisciplinary, with emphasis on the areas of Architecture, Engineering, Agronomy, Biology and Health Sciences. Due to the lines, it has developments in the areas of exact sciences and health, requiring basic knowledge in informatics and mathematics, as well as availability for field activities.

Concentration Areas

Environmental Dynamics

Research of physical, socio-environmental and health processes in regional ecosystems.

Research lines:
  • Environment and Quality of Life – This line of research addresses the interaction between the built environment, the natural environment and the urban community, with a focus on quality of life. Investigates how cities can adapt to new realities, integrating built and natural resources, with a view to developing procedures and techniques that support the energy transition, environmental comfort (thermal, acoustic, light and respiratory), sustainable planning and the promotion of environmental resilience.

  • Environmental Monitoring, Assessment and Control – This line of research focuses on monitoring changes and interactions in the Cerrado and Pantanal biomes. With a focus on understanding, analyzing and modeling carbon biogeochemistry, nutrient cycling, water security, remote sensing and environmental bioindicators, used as environmental assessment and control instruments, seeking to develop risk mitigation strategies, considering the interdisciplinarity and transversality of environmental dynamics.
