The Master and Doctorate courses in Animal Bioscience have as objectives the graduation of human resources with critical sense, interdisciplinary vision, entrepreneur, transformation of the socioeconomic condition, as well as, study and solve emerging problems of the development of the State in the areas of Health and Sustainable Animal Production in the Pantanal Cerrado and Amazon biomes, contributing to regional and national scientific production. The Doctoral course is associated with the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine of the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and was approved at the 169th Meeting of the Technical-Scientific Council of Higher Education – CTC-ES/CAPES.

Health and animal production in the Pantanal, Cerrado and Amazon biomes
It aims to act in the central points of Veterinary Medicine under the medical-investigative scope, focusing on aspects of etiology, diagnosis, prognosis, therapy, prophylaxis of animal diseases and quality of food of animal origin, as well as actions directed to problems and solutions of clinical, surgical, preventive, productive and reproductive nature of animals.
To apply and develop methods of etiological and serological diagnosis, perform molecular, immunological and cellular characterization of organisms, establish disease control and prophylaxis measures for the implementation of health programs, as well as study processes involving clinical-surgical affections focusing on the health and welfare of production, company and wild animals.
To study productive and sustainable systems in different ecosystems, develop and/or make use of biotechnologies, assisted reproduction techniques, nutritional management of production animals, company and wild animals aiming at greater productivity, preservation of wild animals, promote animal welfare, as well as evaluate the hygienic-sanitary quality of animal products.
