Postgraduate Program in Animal Health and Production at UNOPAR, had the Master’s degree approved in Opinion CNE/CES 179/2012 and the Doctorate in Animal Health and Production was approved at the 220th Meeting of CTC-ES/CAPES in 2023. The program has The general objective is to train human resources to meet the demands of the public and private sectors in the areas of health and animal production. Train qualified professionals, endowed with a critical spirit; seeking to integrate teaching, research and extension activities for the teaching career.

Target Audience

Graduates in Veterinary Medicine; Zootechnics; Agronomy; Biology; Biomedicine; Chemistry; Nutrition; Food Science and Technology; Food Engineering, and related fields.

Concentration Areas

Master and Doctorate

  • Line 1 – To study the epidemiological, etiological and pathological characteristics of the main infectious and parasitic diseases in veterinary medicine, as well as zoonoses. To evaluate the aspects related to anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnosis, toxic, metabolic and therapeutic disorders of clinical and surgical diseases in veterinary medicine. To develop methods of etiological, serological and molecular diagnosis and establish control and prophylaxis strategies.
  • Line 2 – To study animal production systems with a focus on sustainability. Evaluation of the main foods and by-products used in animal feed. Evaluation and development of biotechniques applied to animal reproduction and breeding. To promote animal welfare and evaluate sanitary hygienic quality of animal products.
